This project focuses on quantifying the stochastic errors associated with numerical solutions obtained from stochastic differential equations (SDEs) used to model galactic cosmic ray (GCR) transport. GCRs are energetic particles originating beyond our solar system that bombard Earth's atmosphere. Modelling their transport through the galaxy is vital in astrophysics, radiation physics, and other scientific disciplines. SDEs are mathematical equations that incorporate random fluctuations, making them ideal for representing the stochastic nature of GCR transport, influenced by factors like interstellar turbulence and magnetic fields. However, solving SDEs analytically is often difficult. Consequently, numerical methods are employed to approximate the solutions.
